Level 2 Art History
Course Description
Art History is a subject that will grow student’s ability to analyze and interpret artistic sources. These skills allow students to comprehend and break down the explicit and implicit messages weaved into media. In this day and age, the ability to analyze and critically engage with media is becoming increasingly important.
Art History at level 2 will cover the making and changing of the ‘rules’ of art during the time of the French Revolution. Students will engage with revolutionary ideas and how power shifts across society as well as how art aids in the shifting of power. They will be looking at artists like Jaques-Louis David and Manet.
