This course covers Digital Information and Media. We use a range of software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) to create original content. Specifically in this course you will make a brochure, website, and infographic. We will focus on ensuring that our outcomes are easy to use and contain original graphics. Good design habits play an important part in what we do and you will learn how to create print and online media that could be used in the real world.
METHODS OF ASSESSMENT
Assessment will include managing data (infographic), creating a digital media outcome (brochure), prototyping (website) and usability (Human Computer Interaction External). Achievement Standard 9188 is externally assessed.
RELATIONSHIP TO NATIONAL CERTIFICATE/TERTIARY QUALIFICATIONS
DTI101 is one of two, digital technology, level one courses. This course leads to four digital technology level 2 courses (DTI201, COM203, COM303 and COM201) and then onto two level 3 courses within this field (DTI301[a] and COM301[a]).

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
$10 course fee to cover the cost of course related material supplied to students (including $5 printing credit). Additional printing maybe required throughout the year and top up cards can be purchased from the Bursar’s Office. Headphones which plug into a standard headphone jack (not Apple) for accessing sound in tutorial videos.
