Course Description

In this course you will learn how to design and create webpages which connect to a database. You will learn about ‘Usability’ (i.e. how to ensure that everything you make is easy to use).
You can take TCCOM1 (as well as TCDTI1). Doing so will allow you to earn a total of 25 credits over both courses (this includes two unit standards).
Recommended Prior Learning
No prior learning is required. Students who are creative and want to be able use industry standard tools to produce professional looking content are strongly encouraged to take this course.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Students need headphones that have a standard headphone jack so that they can access the sound in the video tutorials.
Pathway
This course leads on to DTI201 and DIT301 where students deepen their skills and create more complex outcomes. DTI301 Students can opt to continue their studies at Design school.
Having a background in Design leads to exciting careers. Design can use their skills in any country in the world without needing to recertify / retrain (as is the case with other professions).
Assessment Information
Students who also do CMTEC1 will be strongly encouraged to complete US5946 (make a presentation and present it for an audience).Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
