The course consists of two parts:
Study of the operation of New Zealand businesses in a Global context, including their internal operations, reactions to external factors and the ways in which businesses respond to critical problems.
Students will also be involved in developing a full marketing plan for a new or existing product. Following this, some students may be offered the opportunity to start an innovative, sustainable business venture, carrying out that venture and reviewing the effectiveness of its operation.
This subject is a University Approved subject.
METHODS OF ASSESSMENT:
Internal Assignment and Optional External Examination Assessment.
Study of the operation of New Zealand businesses in a Global context, including their internal operations, reactions to external factors and the ways in which businesses respond to critical problems.
Students will also be involved in developing a full marketing plan for a new or existing product. Following this, some students may be offered the opportunity to start an innovative, sustainable business venture, carrying out that venture and reviewing the effectiveness of its operation.

Whilst there are no set course costs, please be aware that any students involved in completing the requirements for AS91384 may incur start up and running costs. The level of these costs will be dependent on the business activity undertaken.
Recommended Prior Learning
Students must have gained 12 NCEA L2 Finance 201 Credits or 12 NCEA Level 2 English credits or gain the discretion of the Head of Department.
