Level 1 literacy and Numeracy

Students need to gain 10 literacy credits and 10 numeracy credits as a requirement for NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3.

Level 1 Literacy credits from 2024 are going to be gained by passing the Literacy or Te Reo Matatini Co-requisite, or from a small selection of standards for a limited time.

 Level 1 Numeracy credits from 2024 are going to be gained by passing the Numeracy or Pāngarau Cor-requisite, or from a small selection of standards for a limited time.

Those subjects in which credits gained can contribute to Literacy and Numeracy are clearly indicated in this Pathways Planner within the tables indicating standards and credits available.
