Recommended Prior Learning

Students must have completed the Science101 course with a minimum of an achieved grade in AS90940 (mechanics). Alternatively students should have completed the Science100 (Physics) course with a minimum of an achieved grade in either AS90940 (mechanics) or AS90937 (electricity). Students must also have a minimum of an achieved grade in the algebra and graphs achievement standards in the NCEA Level 1 Mathematics course or at the discretion of the Head of the Department.


This course enables students to develop foundation knowledge in mechanics, electricity and magnetism and atoms and radioactivity.
