This course is a pathway that includes university approved credits at Yr13.
This course cannot be taken in conjunction with Food technology or Resistant Materials Technology as they all teach the same standards.
Term 1
This term, you'll put Manaakitanga into practice! We're kicking off an exciting project that runs into Term 2, challenging you to design and create a practical storage solution that genuinely helps others. You'll refine your work with valuable feedback, ensuring you develop the best possible outcome for this 6-credit standard.
Term 2
Ready to weave magic into celebrations? This project challenges you to dive into the performance of fabrics, experimenting with combining different textiles, fibers, or finishes to engineer exciting new ones. You'll then use your innovative fabric creations to design a product that truly elevates any celebration. This standard goes through into term 3. This standard is worth 6 credits.
Term 3
Towards the end of term three the students will prepare for their external assesment.
Term 4
Completion of their external assessment and any other outstanding work is completed.
