Course Description

Recommended Prior Learning

Achieved 10-12 credits in Graphics 201, or referred to HOD Graphics for entry by negotiation.


Students will continue to develop and showcase their expertise in drawing and design theory gained in DVC201 to resolve complex and comprehensive design briefs.

With a focus on spatial and product design, students will utilise their skills in planning, time management and identifying and meeting the needs of complex design briefs through exploring and refining ideas showcasing a maturing understanding of design theory and practice.

Students will explore and refine their ideas through various modelling techniques these being: drawing, rendering, extended research, 3D sculpture, SketchUp, Fusion360 and Adobe Illustrator. Students will draw from a number of different design practices and practitioners to inspire their work.

Students will utilise and further extend their skills in graphic design and visual communication in a presentation brief to promote their work.

Success at this level can lead to attaining Scholarship for DVC.
