Recommended Prior Learning

Students must be a competent performer with experience in at least one chosen dance style. A prior and/or current study of dance is essential. Interviews conducted by HOD and entry at discretion of teacher.


In this course students will;
•Extend dance skills in the vocabularies, practices and technologies of a range of dance forms
•Initiate, choreograph, develop, perform, dance works of a chosen intent and explore the relationship between dance and other disciplines.
•Select, promote and perform a programme of dance works
•Critically analyse, respond to self, peer and professional works.
•Research the contribution of selected individuals or groups to dance in New Zealand.
