Course Description

Learning Outcome One: Understand that well-functioning markets are efficient but that governments may need to intervene where markets fail to deliver efficient or equitable outcomes.

Learning Outcome Two: Understand how the nature and size of the New Zealand economy is influenced by interacting internal and external factors.

This subject is a University Approved subject.

There is the opportunity for the students to sit Scholarship in this subject.

METHODS OF ASSESSMENT:
Internal Assignment and External Examination Assessment.

Recommended Prior Learning

Students must have gained 12 credits in NCEA Economics Level 2 or entry at the discretion of the HOD.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

Students are required to purchase their own stationery (including a calculator) and one workbook (approximately ($25 each).
