Course Description

Teacher in Charge: C. Linnen.

Students will build language and cultural knowledge through communication and interaction in Japanese language. Activities will focus on the key aspects of language: listening, speaking, writing and reading. By the end of this course the students will be prepared to interact in basic Japanese language in a range of different situations. 

This option also prepares the student for NCEA Level 1 in Japanese language.

Topics: Family, Sports & Leisure Activities, Food & Drinks, School Life, Daily Routine, Transportation

METHODS OF ASSESSMENT: Course Assessments in Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing and Cultural Studies.

EXTRA CURRICULAR: Cooking Experiences, Calligraphy, Origami, Restaurant trip (cost TBC)

Recommended Prior Learning

Completion of Year 9 Japanese Course and/or after consultation with the HOD of Languages and/or proof of prior learning of Japanese.
