Physical Education – 15 credits Level 1 Physical Education develops the social, emotional, intellectual, and cultural capabilities of ākonga. These capabilities inform the ways in which ākonga understand tikanga in movement contexts, provide diverse ways of participating in physical activities, and contribute to movement's wider benefits to hauora. The course includes the following achievement standards. Movement Strategies AS1.1 - Apply movement strategies in an applied setting. Example: Being able to execute turbo touch skills such as passing, catching, moving into space in an applied setting. Eg. JAG, Courts, Field Kotahitanga in action AS1.2 - Demonstrate understanding of how kotahitanga is promoted in movement through application of strategies: Applying kotahitanga values within sports – Co-operation skills, leadership skills and understanding the Vā. Such as interpersonal skills – Team activities. Influences on Hauora AS1.3 - Demonstrate understanding of the influence of a personal movement experience on hauora: Describe, explain and evaluate how personal movement influences hauora. Choosing a sport or a physical activity that can influence them to become better. Describing, explaining and valuating what happens to your hauora when you are experiencing physical movement. Mental and Emotional, Spiritual, Physical, and Social. |
