Level 1 Mathematics
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr I. Wilson.
Students should select Level 1 Mathematics and they will be placed into a course dependent on their result in US 32406 Numeracy and teacher recommendations.
All students will undertake a full Year 11 Mathematics course at Level 5/6 (Phase 4/5) of the NZC.
Each course will contain:
- Mathematics - Number, Algebra, Geometry (Space) and Measurement
- Statistics - Statistical Reports and Probability
The course will be comprised of a selection of these assessments:
- Internal assessments: AS91944 (1.1) 5 credits - Explore data using the statistical enquiry process, and AS91945 (1.2) 5 credits - use mathematical methods to explore problems that relate to life in Aotearoa New Zealand or the Pacific.
- External assessment: AS91946 (1..3) 5 credits - Interpret and apply mathematical and statistical information in context, or AS91947 (1.4) 5 credits - Demonstrate Mathematical reasoning.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Scientific calculator (recommended) or Graphics calculator (optional and only recommended if taking Maths past Y11), Lapatop
