Year 10 Mathematics
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr I. Wilson.
Students will work at Level 5 of the National Curriculum in the areas of Number and Algebra, Geometry and Measurement, and Statistics. All ranges of ability levels are catered for. High ability students study a full NCEA Level 1 course including the internal assessments and sitting the external achievement standard at the end of Year 10 so they can transition into Level 2 Mathematics in Year 11. All students have the opportunity to gain 10 Level 1 NCEA credits through the Numeracy corequisite Unit Standard 32406.
For those students who are in the Maths SUMMIT class, they are working at Level 6 of the National Curriculum in the areas of Number and Algebra, Geometry and Measurement, and Statistics.
