Course Description
Teacher in Charge: E. Heald.
Year 10 Leadership (10LEA) is a year-long option course for aspiring young leaders. If you want to make a positive impact on your community and learn how to run major events, this option class is perfect for you!
COURSE FOCUS:
In this course you will explore the Leadership idea of ‘Making a Difference’ by critically thinking about strengths, challenges, and solutions to issues in our communities. Building on the skills you learned in Year 9, such as Active Listening, Teamwork, Public Speaking, and Facilitation, this course will empower you to take charge and create change.
But that's not all! As part of the class, you will play a crucial role in organizing and running the annual Leadership Conference for year 7 and 8 students. You can choose to be an event manager, designer, speaker, usher, marketing guru, fundraiser, financial expert, or a sound and lighting engineer for this exciting event.
OTHER OPPORTUNITIES:
In addition to the amazing experiences within the course, there are even more opportunities waiting for you. You will have the chance to attend the GRIP Leadership Conference, where you can connect with like-minded young leaders from different schools.
As a member of 10LEA, you'll also have the unique opportunity to collaborate with prefects and senior leaders at Massey High School. This means you'll be exposed to real-world leadership scenarios and learn from the best!
Are you ready to unleash your leadership potential and make a difference in your community? Join 10LEA, and let's embark on an exciting journey of growth, impact, and fun!
