Course Description

Students will be placed into either ENG1 or ENGLIT based on their results from Junior English and their Literacy results. The main difference between the courses is that ENG1 is made up of Achievement Standards, while ENGLIT includes a combination of Achievement Standards and Unit Standards.
In both courses students are offered the opportunity to study a variety of written texts, visual texts and oral texts. They are also supported to create texts of different types. The students will be offered at least three of the standards from the list below, making up a total of approximately 15 credits based on the needs of the individual student. Students will also be supported in preparation for the Literacy co requisite examinations if they did not pass these in Year 10.
