Course Description

Health Education: In Health Education, the focus is on the Well-Being of the students themselves, of other people, and of Society through learning in health-related contexts. Students develop competencies for mental wellness, reproductive health and positive sexuality, safety management, decision-making, and understanding of nutritional needs. Students build resilience through strengthening their personal identity and sense of self-worth, they learn to demonstrate empathy, and they develop skills that enhance relationships. Health education can be continued as a full academic option at NCEA Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.
Physical Education: Year 10 students experience a range of physical activities. The program is based on the new Health and Physical Education Curriculum. Major components include Physical Growth and Development, Motor Skill Development, and Personal and Social Development.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Must have a device. Massey High School PE gear (black shirt and shorts) available from SAS are recommended.
